There are few cultures that have opulence and elegance as well as French. When it comes to design, furniture is no different, and the chaise longue is a piece of European innovation, which is the definition of a life of luxury and refinement. Apart from the obvious reason of design chaise lounge, there are some changes to the form that you may have been wrong for the same thing. Some of them include the Meridienne, the Duchess and Recamier.
As one of thoseAbnormalities of folk etymology is the term "couch" is actually a defect of American invention. The correct term for the presidency is "chaise longue", but the Americans say the wrong word since 1850, has become so ingrained in the culture. Today, both versions are acceptable, although the former is by far the most popular. In its simplest description is a chaise lounge couch as seating, (mostly) padded, but in the form of an extended and a chair with four legs. The resultlooks like a sort of couch, with a headrest at one end and can have a seat back or without back. In translation, the French word simply means a "deck chair" in the language of the chaise, and so can cover any number of places inside and outside the cabin and deck chairs. Meridienne follows the beautiful. This is one of the most interesting types of the bridge because of its significant asymmetry. The top of the chair with a headrest start than normal, followed by a gradual slope on the back, and the result is something that looks like a sofa. It can also be found a matching stool. The Meridienne enjoyed popularity in western Europe during the same time as the Recamier and was intended to be used as a bed for lunchNap when the sun is closer to the meridian.
One of the oldest variety of chaise longue, the Duchess goes back to 1785-95. This version has a pronounced chair-like curves back out in two arms. Unlike the Meridienne sees the Duchess more like a chair (albeit distorted) as a sofa bed. Why is it called the Duchess is a bad thing, because there is no history to support, certainly refers to a duchess. A specific and well-known company basedThe form is the Duchesse brisée. It means "broken", brisée refers to the way the chair is the chair in the design above with the addition of a stool long divided.
